2008...

Was one hell of a year! The highlight of the year came late with the birth of my nephew Quinn. I love that my family is getting bigger by the months and I'm very thankful that everyone is healthy and a car trip away. A close second would be my cycling season capped off with numerous wins and a long time goal to race with the fastest in CO. Another close second is my dear friend and gchat buddy Jessica who is one of the kindest and most sincere people I have ever met. And truthfully who would have thought we would be friends...not me. Jessica said it perfectly one day, "sometimes I think that when you find real and true people in life you don't let them go; they are too rare." Well if you ever get the chance to meet Jessica don't let go because she's a pretty cool chica.

I also fell really hard this year. The pain, confusion and frustration became the fuel of success in cycling. I'd like to say I experienced true love but can it really be true love if in the end all fails? I don't know but what I do know is there's someone for everyone. We live and learn right?!

So what can I look forward to in 2009? Well another niece or nephew come June. Hopefully some good results for my new team HART. Maybe a couple wins for Luke and Cole who enjoy racing with me. Watching little Makenna be the cute big little sister that she'll be in June. Hopefully a home owner but we'll see. In the next few days I'll set a side some 'me time' and write down some goals for 2009 and who knows maybe I'll share them with you. But for right now I'm just going to keep PEdaLinG ThRougH LIfe. Have a Happy New Year! Ciao.

Family Holiday Photos Part II

Pics from the Denver Chophouse celebrating Christine's birthday. The boys had a great time trying to drain my bank account by eating as much as they possibly could. Well lets just say they had a lot to eat.

FYI: The photo of the empty seat you might question. The waitress told us Lebron James sat at this table and in that chair last night for dinner. So I took a photo.

Papa and Popo in town

That what the little ones call my dad and step mom who are in town for an early X-mas celebration. Did a sleigh ride party yesterday at my sis's place and now heading to my brother's place for a second round of holiday eating. Time to bust out the elastic pants!

Facebook: sad yet so true

Touching the Void...

is one intense documentary film. Talk about life throwing you curve balls. An amazing survival story of two climbers with a lot of luck who make life decisions and quick actions to live to tell about it. Wow!

NeW TEam riDe

Meeting up with my new team this morning for an easy 3.5 hour ride. It will be a great chance to see everyone and chat about the 2009 season which is just around the corner. Right now we are looking at 7-8 guys on the 1/2 team which is perfect to be competitive in the Pro 1/2 field of Colorado racing. I'm excited to see what I can do with a team leadout in a crit. and I'm looking forward to pulling off some surprising wins. Of course I'll also have my hands full with riding support for our climbers and GC guys. It's going to be a fun season. GAME ON.

Winter is kind of here...

for the moment. The beauty of living in Colorado is the winters are actually very mild so although today might be cold with freezing drizzle. This weekend looks to we sunny and warm in the 50s; perfect for a training ride. I can deal.

Sin-na-gong Dinner

Michael and I went down to my sister's place to try her first attempt at a very popular Filipino dish called sin-na-gong. It was awesome and exactly like I remembered it when I was little. Of course the other highlight was playing with little Makenna who is just a riot. My sister also baked cookies and little Mac was all over the chocolate. Check out the pics.

Obama & Change: Only Time Will Tell If That Change Is Good

I voted against McCain and Palin. Actually I just voted against the hockey mom. Yes Sarah Palin we know you're a hockey mom and you can see Alaska and that's great but we need a VP. Sorry.

From all the readings and reports I have read McCain's tax plan is a better plan when it comes to jump starting our economy, producing jobs and increasing our GDP. Obama's plan looks to do the same but leaving it in the hands of the people with a redistribution of wealth. In the end it's up to us so I'll take the tax break and make the most of it.

I can only hope now that Obama surrounds himself with a strong and intelligent team willing to work hard for the American people.

The New Year, well kind of sort of but not really.

You see today is the beginning of my 'official' training for the 2009 race season. What does that mean? Well right now just riding more consistently and watching my weight so the lbs. don't creep up on me too much over the holidays. I'm looking forward to some long and cold epic training rides with my new team. GAME ON!

Red Bull Soapbox Derby: Team Save Ferris

Gotta love Red Bull and even more so when they put on crazy events like the Soapbox derby race at Red Rocks. Matt Fisher, a buddy of mine from the U-Bikes days, was in the race as the driver for Team Save Ferris. Matt's a pro downhill mt. bike racer so speed and risk is nothing new and something he craves everyday of his life. Well he did not dissapoint and took 2nd based on time but I'm pretty sure they won the entire event. The Ferrari was sick and the highlight for most people to checkout up in the pits. As you can see from the photos below Matt was driving this thing 12 inches off the ground with a mt. bike handlebar...sick! Anyways, enjoy the photos. Ciao!
