An Honest Look At Myself

I'm FAT! I'm F-ing FAT!

It's not something I enjoy admitting and it's something I've shrugged off as "No worries I can lose it, I'm an elite cyclist, an athlete..." but not any more. I've realized that I'm in a place I've never been before and it's going to take some serious effort to get back to were I was 18 months ago. 18 months ago I was 170lbs and a competitive cyclist with an average weight but could of easily shed more lbs to be more competitive. My guess is 160-165lbs will make me even more competitive but right now I can't even think about that. I'm going to focus on the 90% that matters right now...just eating right and less, exercising daily and having fun with it, drinking lots of water, stretching and getting plenty of sleep. I'll focus on that 10% that will make me a fast cyclist when the time comes but right now I can't even do the 90% that matters. I'm about 195lbs and holding steady and of course with the holidays it's even harder but I've been this weight now for a year and it sucks. It's time to forget about all the things I did well and races I won in the past and start from ground zero. 2012 is my year. I know what I'm capable of and I'm out to prove to myself just that. It's time to shut up and let the legs do the talking. I can't wait.

After October's Anytober deal that involved all of Subway's sandwiches seeing a price drop to $5, the sandwich chain has reverted back to their original prices and rotating $5 Footlong monthly deals. For the month of November they've brought up their Chicken Marinara Melt sandwich that utilizes their signature marinara sauce slathered on their chicken breast patties, melted cheese and served toasty on freshly baked Italian bread.

The nutritional breakdown on the Chicken Marinara Melt is 820 calories, 20.8 grams of fat, 80 mg of cholesterol and 56 grams of protein.

Not 1 but 4!!!

I mean these dudes were clearly doping intentionally and the Brazilian Federation slaps their wrists with a warning? I'm sorry that's BS. Interesting with the Olympics around the corner. Lets just say thanks to their pathetic Federation I'm going to have to consider every Brazilian athlete suspect. Dopers Suck.

Brazilian swimmer Cesar Cielo fails doping test

Posted 07/01/2011 04:52:01 PM |

SAO PAULO (AP) — Brazil's swimming federation says Olympic champion Cesar Cielo tested positive for a banned substance in May and will not be banned.

In a statement Friday, the federation says Cielo and three other swimmers tested positive for the diuretic furosemide at the Maria Lenk Trophy meet in Rio de Janeiro.

Furosemide is used to help lose weight and also can mask the presence of other banned drugs.

Cielo won the 50 meter freestyle at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The statement says the federation chose to give the four men a warning. The other swimmers are Nicholas Santos, Henrique Barbosa and Vinicius Waked.

Cielo also was stripped of the five gold medals and a silver he won at the Rio event. The other three swimmers lost a total of 12 medals.

Chloe: New restaurant, lounge, club

Lets just say if I had a rating system from 1 beer to 5 beers with 5 being the best I'd give this place a wine cooler. I had confirmation that we were on the guest list only to find out we were not when we got there. The Bouncers were rude, confused and not very helpful. It probably didn't help they couldn't see anything on those tiny blackberries they were using as the guest list. I mean for a wealthy owner who has 5 bars/clubs in Denver you would think someone with experience would suggest to him, "Hey lets use iPads so we can see shit and still look cool." My two cents. So I imagine I'll make my way over there again but for happy hour only. Lets hope they can handle that.

Happy Birthday Lola

Today my Lola(Grandma) turns 96. How awesome is that?! And she's getting stronger each year believe it or not. I'd say today is a special day but the reality is that every chance I get to see her is a special day. I've been very fortunate enough to see her a lot this past year and I've loved every minute of it. It's our typical McDs lunch at Tita Daisy's. She has her Filet-o-fish and fries and I have my cheeseburger and fries. We simply sit, eat and chat about life. It's one of the most calming and happiest times of my life and will always be. So I decided to look for a little poem or saying to help me better describe what an incredibly beautiful person my Lola is and I came up with the quote below by Barbara Cage. That's my Lola. I love you Lola!

A grandma is warm hugs and sweet memories. She remembers all of your accomplishments and forgets all of your mistakes. She is someone you can tell your secrets and worries to, and she hopes and prays that all your dreams come true. She always loves you, no matter what. She can see past temper tantrums and bad moods, and makes it clear that they don't affect how precious you are to her. She is an encouraging word and a tender touch. She is full of proud smiles. She is the one person in the world who loves you with all her heart, who remembers the child you were and cherishes the person you've become. ~Barbara Cage~
